At Maple Court Academy, we ensure that our pupils lead the way and take control of their academy. We have many different pupil teams which are created using a democratic approach involving the children voting for the most appropriate pupil for the role.
We believe that our children are the most important people. During the academy year, we endeavour to give all children lots of opportunities to share their thoughts and opinions, and play an active role in the decisions that affect their learning and well-being.
We have lots of ways that the children can do this formally, such as through the pupil council, pupil ambassadors, pupil questionnaires and academy assemblies. However, we also want to create an ethos that allows the children to regularly share their opinions in an informal way, in class and also by sharing their thoughts with the Governors and the senior leadership team, whose door is always open to children!
Our junior leadership team contains children from across the academy, and the children place a great deal of value on gaining one of the important roles within the academy.
