Message from the Principal

1st January 2021

Dear Parents and Carers,

I am delighted to welcome you to Maple Court Academy. It is our passion to give our children the very best opportunity to be successful and to recognise the talents of everyone.

Our academy is a happy and exciting place to be with lots of opportunities. The children are at the heart of everything that we do and the values in our academy reflect this. We believe that all children have the right to learn in a safe, stimulating and caring environment. The academy environment is attractive and stimulating for the children and supportive of learning.

Every member of staff in our academy is fully committed to ensuring that all children work hard, are well supported and make good progress across the curriculum. Since our recent Ofsted (November 2019) Maple Court is on an exciting journey to fulfil our vision and aims and our motto of ‘Expect Excellence, Achieve Excellence’, in all areas of the academy life. We continue to make improvements, and our expectations are exceptionally high. Our universal aim is that all of our children are happy and successful learners and that their experiences at Maple Court have a positive impact on the rest of their lives.

We tailor our learning experiences to meet the needs of the children and always strive to make learning interesting and fun. Staff pride themselves on getting to know their children and consider their interests and ideas so that they are inspired and motivated to learn. At the heart of learning in our academy are our MAPLE values, Moral, Adaptable, Proud, Leaners, Enthusiastic; we believe that these are all values that are vital to a successful individual.

There are many opportunities in the academy for the children as we truly believe that children’s development should not just be limited to English and Maths. We continually work hard to further develop our broad and balanced curriculum, and children have excellent opportunities in foundation subjects. We offer enrichment opportunities through our extra-curricular programme and the many academy visits that we offer, which unfortunately due to the current period is disrupted. Life skills and confidence continue to grow through our student character development, raising aspiration and ambition by opening up the world to our students.

Another important part of our academy, and your child’s learning journey is you, the parent!

We champion the link between the academy and parents and work very hard to involve you in every step of your child’s time here, thus further increasing your child’s enjoyment of learning.

Visitors to our academy are most welcome, and we strongly recommend that if you are thinking about sending your child to Maple Court, you come and look at our academy in action. We hope that you enjoy looking at our website and look forward to meeting you soon.

Mrs Louise Brammer

Year 4 called this a science experiment - I'm not so sure. I think they just wanted to make Rice Crispie Cakes!

They used different temperatures of water to see how quickly the chocolate melted.

Year 3 have been exploring the text 'Stone Age Boy' recently. They made stone age jewellery and explored some emotions which the characters in the book went through.
Ask your child if they can remember the story!
