Welcome to Maple Court Academy

Message from the Principal

Please click here to read the latest letter from the academy regarding the end of term.

Since June 1st, Maple Court Academy have successfully welcomed back pupils from Reception, Year 1, Year 6 and Year 5, whilst still offering home learning to years 2,3 &4. Our pupils’ welfare is at the heart of everything we do, the safety of our pupils is paramount. During the pupils’ time back in school, we are ensuring that children feel happy, safe, and that their mental health and wellbeing is our priority. We are recapping prior learning to ensure that children have remembered content taught previously. We also have begun to teach new skills in preparation for the following academic year.

The end of the Summer Term is nearly upon us and it has been an interesting year, particularly with the challenges of these unprecedented times. At Maple Court, we promise our school family that the next academic year will be exciting, particularly with the new curriculum we have planned. Our teachers and support staff are committed to the “journey to success” for our academy and thank you for your ongoing support. Staff at Maple Court are happy to maintain positive links with our children and parents, therefore, we ask that if you have any questions please feel free to contact them either via the school office or class dojo.

We look forward to being able to welcome all of our children back to Maple Court Academy from 3rd September. Further details to support the full reopening in the Autumn term will be shared over the next few weeks.

Alpha Academies Trust Announcement

From the 1st June 2020, the Government has requested schools to begin welcoming back students, alongside the full time provision they are offering to priority groups. Alpha Academies Trust has responded by implementing detailed risk assessments to ensure it is safe to do so.

Click here to read the letter from the CEO and Chair of the Trust detailing the outcome of these risk assessments, and how the Trust intends to address the new Government guidance.

Alpha Academies Trust has also made guidance available for parents, detailing what measures will be implemented to ensure a safe learning environment when children return.

The Government have cancelled all public examinations for 2020, and staff have followed DfE guidelines whilst assessing the hard work completed by children to support a GCSE grade that will be awarded in the same way as previous years.

Yesterday was the last day of the school year for the children. This has been a year like no other that we have experienced and we would like to say a huge well done to all of our children for their hard work throughout the year - both before and during the school closure period. We are extremely proud of all of your achievements this year and are really looking forward to welcoming everyone back to the academy in September.
Yesterday we have said goodbye to our Year 6 children - what resilience, adaptability and determination all of our Year 6 children have shown throughout their time at Maple Court and in particular over the last four months. We wish you all the very very best of luck as you move to high school - a huge well done for all of your achievements during your time at Maple Court. Show everyone you meet what fabulous people you are and shine bright in everything that you do. As your chapter of primary school is closing, a new exciting chapter in high school is beginning. Come back and see us and let us know how you are getting on.
We also want to say thank you to all of our families throughout this very difficult period that we have been in - your support has been very much appreciated.
We will be posting information about the return to school in September onto class dojo and all information will be posted home as well. The safety and well being of your children remains our biggest priority.
Have a great summer everyone - take care and we can’t wait to open our doors to our whole academy family in September.

Thank you. Mrs Brammer and Mrs Bourne

A message from the safeguarding team:

Firstly, I would like to say a big thank you for all your support over the past few months.

Please be aware that the safeguarding team will not be working during the holidays. We encourage families who may be struggling to seek support from within their family and friend support networks and where possible, contact your own social worker or family support worker. You can also contact 01782 235100 if you need to speak to social care with concerns. Most of these support agencies are available throughout the holidays.

We wish you all a very safe and happy summer holiday and we will look forward to seeing you all in September.

Best Wishes Miss Jackson, Ms Gwilt and Mrs Guard x
