Uniform standards

Academy uniform is extremely important, it helps your child feel a sense of pride and belonging within their classes.

Nursery & Reception

The required uniform for Nursery and Reception students at Maple Court Academy is detailed below.

Boys:

  • Black trousers
  • Branded Maple Court Academy yellow polo t-shirt
  • Branded Maple Court Academy red jumper or cardigan
  • Smart sensible black shoes
  • Tailored smart black shorts can be worn in the summer term only

Girls:

  • Black trousers or skirt
  • Branded Maple Court Academy yellow polo t-shirt
  • Branded Maple Court Academy red jumper or cardigan
  • Smart sensible black shoes
  • Red summer dress/shorts can be worn in the summer term only

Key Stage 1 & 2

The required uniform for Key Stage 1 & 2 students at Maple Court Academy is detailed below.

Boys:

  • Black trousers
  • Plain white shirt
  • Maple Court Academy tie
  • Branded Maple Court Academy red jumper or cardigan
  • Smart sensible black shoes
  • Tailored black shorts can be worn in the summer term only

Girls:

  • Black trousers or skirt
  • Plain white shirt
  • Branded Maple Court Academy logo tie
  • Branded Maple Court Academy red jumper or cardigan
  • Smart sensible black shoes
  • Red summer dress/shorts can be worn in the summer term only

Maple Court Academy – Key Stage 1 & 2 Uniform 2023/24

PE & Swimming

Physical Education Sports Kit

  • Plain red round-neck t-shirt
  • Black shorts or jogging bottoms
  • Black pumps or trainers
  • Black jumper or zip up jackets are optional for colder weather
  • Long hair must be tied back
  • All jewellery must be removed

All PE clothing should be labelled with your child’s name, and sent in to the academy in an appropriate bag.

Swimming Lessons: Years 4 & 6

  • Girls must wear a one piece swimming costume of any colour (no bikinis or tankinis)
  • Boys must wear trunks or tight swim shorts (no baggy shorts)
  • All pupils must wear a swimming cap
  • Please ensure your child has a towel
  • All jewellery must be removed
  • Goggles can be worn if a letter of consent has been received by the academy from a parent or carer, and given to the class teacher who will then inform the swimming instructor.

Your child’s swimming kit should be labelled and have an appropriate bag.

Hair & Jewellery

Hair

During term time, students should not attend the academy with fashion hairstyles, which include:

  • Dyed hair
  • Streaked hair
  • Braiding
  • Patterns
  • Tramlines
  • Mohawks

Very long hair should be tied back and hair should be kept out of children’s eyes at all times. Hair accessories should be minimal and should reflect academy colours. Hair pieces and large accessories should not be worn.

Jewellery

The wearing of jewellery, with the exception of one pair of plain ear studs and a watch, is not allowed for health and safety and administrative reasons. All jewellery must be removed for PE and swimming lessons. We urge you not to allow your child to have their ear(s) pierced during term time.

Any form of jewellery presents health and safety risks, including: rings, necklaces and bracelets – and therefore, should not be worn.

The wearing of religious items or symbols is permitted, but must still be removed for PE and swimming lessons.

Makeup and Nails

Students are not allowed to wear makeup and false nails in the academy. Any nail paint should be a light colour or clear.
