Dear Parents & Carers We are immensely proud to be sharing our recent Ofsted inspection…
Class Teacher: Miss R Leese
Class Support Staff: Mrs A Ogden
Class Teacher: Miss J Thursfield
Class Support Staff: Mrs A Ogden
Miss Leese is very excited to teach Year 3, alongside Miss Thursfield and Mrs Ogden.
There are 26 children in 3L. We are a kind, caring and loving class who work hard and try our best.
At Maple Court Academy, we follow our MAPLE Values, and we use these values every day to be the best learners that we can be.
In Year 3, we follow an exciting and diverse curriculum including lots of different subjects. In History, we learn about the Three Ages; the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age and Ancient Egypt. We read texts linked to this topic and we use our enquiry skills to learn about the past, and discover how different life use to be.
In Geography, we will be using our map skills, as well as learning about our local area. In Science we will be learning about the human skeleton and how to plan and carry out scientific investigations. In Art and Design Technology, we will have the chance to make and create, learn about famous artists and improve our drawing skills!
Now that we are in Key Stage 2, we will begin to learn French. This is very exciting, and we are looking forward to greeting you with our French language skills. We are also lucky enough to each have a laptop to use in our classroom, so we will be able to improve our computing skills this year!
Books, diaries and times tables books should be brought in every day.
Children are expected to read at least 4 times a week at home, although 5 times is even better and children who achieve this will be rewarded with a certificate.
PE is on a Monday. It is very important that EVERY child has a PE kit in school ready to take part in PE.
Toast can be purchased daily at breaktime. The cost of this is 35p a day and the money needs to be put on the children’s parentmail account.
Welcome to 3T.
