My name is Steve Bradbury, and I am very privileged to be Maple Court Academy’s Chair of Governors. As Chair, I will always guarantee that as a team of governors we ensure the objectives of both staff and pupils are met with continuous improvement in all areas of the school.

The purpose of the board is to: –

• Ensure that everyone associated with the school understands the school’s vision and ethos for your child.
• Work with the Head Teacher to ensure that your child realise their potential and that all staff are supported and trained to achieve this.
• Ensure that the funding we receive from central Government is well spent.

Our aim is to challenge and support the school in encouraging and nurturing the aspirations of all pupils to achieve their dreams. As a group, we strive to ensure that a first-class education is delivered, that overcomes inequality.

As governors, we aim to be the best we can be, and our intention is for standards in all curriculum areas to become well above national averages. We aim to establish partnerships within the community to ensure the academy is a centre of excellence for all. We want the school to become a focal point for the community and a learning hub to build talent and develop the character of all children.

I believe the most important aspect for us as a board of Governors, is that we work as a team, in collaboration with others. We believe strongly in the Maple values and promote them at all times. Your child deserves the best, and we are fortunate at Maple Court to have an outstanding team of people that continually strive for the best that they can be. We as governors feel extremely fortunate to be part of this team.

We also see you and your child as an important part of this team. Working together, we will be able to provide your child with the best possible start in life to succeed and it is my belief that with the right commitment from everyone, the Governors, staff and yourselves we will succeed in this aim.
