Chair of Governors’ Welcome Message
A very warm welcome to all parents, carers and friends of Maple Court Academy,
My name is Steve Bradbury, and I am very privileged to be Maple Court Academy’s Chair of Governors. As Chair, I will always guarantee that, as a team of governors, we will strive to ensure continuous improvement and progress through challenge and support of the school’s leadership.

The role of the governing board is to:
• Ensure that everyone associated with the academy understands our vision and ethos for your child.
• Work with the Principal and Leaders to ensure that every child realises their potential and that all staff are supported and trained to achieve this.
• Ensure that all funding received from central government is used effectively and responsibly.
Our aim is to challenge and support the academy in nurturing the aspirations of all pupils to achieve their dreams. As a group, we strive to ensure that a first-class education is delivered one that overcomes inequality and promotes opportunity for all.
As governors, we are committed to being the best we can be. Our intention is for standards in all curriculum areas to become above national averages. We seek to build strong partnerships within the community, ensuring the academy becomes a centre of excellence and a focal point or learning, growth and opportunity.
We believe the most important aspect of our role as a board is to work collaboratively – as a team and in partnership with others. We are deeply committed to the Maple values and promote them at all times.
Your child deserves the very best, and we are fortunate at Maple Court to have an outstanding team of dedicated staff who continually strive for excellence. As governors, we are extremely proud to be part of this community.
We also recognise that you and your child are a vital part of this team. Building strong relationships between home and school is key to every child’s success. Together, we can ensure that every pupil receives the best possible start in life, prepared and confident for their next steps. It is my firm belief that with the shared commitment of governors, staff and families, we will achieve our goals—for every child to thrive and succeed in whatever path they choose.
Yours faithfully,
Steve Bradbury
