Junior Leadership Team

Our School Leadership is supported by a dynamic and democratically elected Junior Leadership Team (JLT), which is crucial to the smooth running and continuous improvement of our school alongside Mrs Stanyer. The JLT acts as a vital bridge, fostering an essential link between the staff and the entire student body. Every JLT member is chosen through a school-wide democratic vote, ensuring they truly represent the voice of their peers. Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, they are instrumental in gathering feedback, monitoring school developments, and suggesting improvements. Their responsibilities include providing regular feedback to pupils, teachers, and governors, and they are also excellent ambassadors, often taking the lead in conversing with visitors during school tours.

The roles within the Junior Leadership Team are:

· Principal of JLT – Supporting Mrs Bourne

· Vice Principal of JLT – Supporting Mrs Cadman & Miss Marshall

· 2x Maths JLT – Supporting Miss Marshall & Miss Whalley

· 2x English JLT – Supporting Mrs Cadman & Miss Archer

· 2x Safeguarding JLT – Supporting Ms Gwilt & Mrs Sherwin

This year, we are also proud to introduce our House Captains for our four house teams—Bridgewater, Gladstone, Middleport, and Wedgwood. These captains are dedicated to fostering camaraderie and school spirit by taking the lead in major house events throughout the year, such as the annual Harvest celebration, regular competitions and Sports Day.

Class Roles – Including the School Council

Beyond these teams, we have a wide range of pupil leaders who directly shape our school culture and decision-making. Every class has dedicated pupils who serve as Values Ambassadors, Attendance Monitors, a School Councillor, a Digital Leader, and a Reading Ambassador. These pupils are actively driving change and development across the school:

· Our Values Ambassadors are currently partnered with the School of Kindness charity and have introduced the new ‘Be Moral; Be Kind!’ award for our Celebration Assembly.

· The School Council is focused on improving lunchtimes for everyone.

· Attendance Monitors work alongside Mrs. Hof to boost class attendance figures.

· Digital Leaders are at the forefront of implementing our 1:1 device strategy in the classroom.

· Reading Ambassadors are busy developing and enhancing both their class and whole-school libraries.

The School Council is a group of pupils elected by their classmates to represent their views and help improve the school. Every member of the School Council was chosen through a democratic election process within their own class. They are the voice of the students! The council meets regularly with Mrs Stanyer to share ideas, discuss suggestions from their peers, and work together to implement changes that help make our school an even better place for everyone.
